Parenting BYO Book Club In-Person
For mothers, fathers, or anyone raising a child -
BYO Book Clubs are designed to gather people who have similar reading interests, without assigning a specific book that everyone has to read. Choose a parenting book or podcast episode from the list below or of your own choice, and come prepared to share what you've learned and learn from what others have read.
Parenting styles (November 14th)
What kind of parent are you? Gentle? Tiger mom? Helicopter or free-range? Authoritative or authoritarian? Mindful? Positive? There are an overwhelming number of books, podcasts, blogs, and newsletters that offer these frameworks for us to understand our role as parents. We'll discuss the styles that people have read about, their pros and cons, and whether we find them useful.
Parenting and spirituality (December 12th)
Mind, body, and spirit - attending to our children's spirits might be the hardest of the three. Whether hoping to pass on our childhood spiritual traditions or exploring something different or new, many parents may wonder, how exactly does this work? How does what we do as parents shape our kids' spirituality, and how do they shape ours?
