The Winthrop Library Community Room is a town facility that is free and available for public use 7 days a week, year-round. The room is available for reservation by groups with a minimum expected attendance of 3 people (to reserve the North or South side) and groups of 10 or more (for full room use). The room may be booked up to 60 days prior to the meeting date, for a maximum of 2 bookings per group per month. Pre-registration closes inside of a 24-hour window to allow for first come, first serve use of the room for walk-in library users.
The Community Room can be used for meetings, presentations, classes, clubs, group meetings, and more. No admission fees or sales are allowed within the space. The Community Room is not intended as a private office for groups or individuals, and social events (parties, weddings, celebrations, etc.) are not allowed in the space.
The Community Room has 8 tables with 4 chairs each. The maxim capacity of the full room is 72 people. There is a hospitality kitchen with a sink, fridge, water heater, and coffee maker. The room can be divided into two smaller rooms (the North and South Room) with a maximum capacity of 36 people. The rooms default furniture setup is 8 tables with 4 chairs at each table. More chairs are available as needed.
Technology Availability
- Open access Wi-Fi is available in the Library. However, the Library cannot guarantee the reliability or availability of Wi-Fi during any meeting. More information about using the Library’s Wi-Fi can be found in the NCW Libraries Internet Usage Policy.
- You may bring in your own technology.
- You may request use of the Community Room Zoom Cart with 70" monitor when you make your reservation or at least seven (7) days before your meeting. Approval depends on staff and equipment availability.
- NCW Libraries staff is not available to assist with technology in the Community Room.
