Making Salsa and Canning Tomatoes

Making Salsa and Canning Tomatoes In-Person

After this class, people will want your salsa recipes! Find out what kind of tomatoes to use in salsa and how to select and prepare peppers. Techniques for making salsa, canning tomatoes, preparing juice blends and spaghetti sauce will be explained.

This is the second session of a five-part food preservation series presented by Washington State University Extension, Chelan/Douglas Counties, in partnership with Waste Loop and NCW Libraries.

Preserving food greatly reduces food waste, saves resources such as water, energy, and land, that are used in food production, and extends access to local, seasonal food throughout the year. Classes are for people just learning how to preserve food and for veteran food preservers who need a refresher course to be sure the food they are preserving is done safely.

Please register for each event individually.
